»The creation of a graduate school in economics is a natural and necessary step in the development of a research cluster in economics in Barcelona. The Barcelona GSE Research Network exists to spearhead, coordinate, and support the research initiatives and activities of its founding academic bodies. The GSE Research Network is the most recent example of a long history of cooperation in the Barcelona research community, one which aims to produce a volume and quality of research that rivals those of the top economics research clusters in the world.

The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics offers international master degrees in Economics and Finance taught in English and awarded with the UPF and the UAB.

The Barcelona GSE also offers economics summer schools and promotes top-ranked economic research.
